Alexandria

It is the most famous city in Egypt, which is located on the Mediterranean Sea, and Alexandria includes the largest ports, such as the port of Alexandria and the port of Dakhla.

It also has the Alexandria Library, which includes more than 8 million books, and has many museums, such as the Aquatic Life Museum and the Jewelry Museum.

It has archaeological sites such as Qaitbay Castle and Amoud al-Thawari (Alexandria witnessed all this history and remained strong), and its population has now reached more than 5 million people.

And because every strong has a time of weakness

Alexandria weakened for a period of time, but came back strong again. For example, Alexandria was completely submerged, but it was established again.

Among the disasters that faced Alexandria was the fire of the Alexandria Library, which means the fire of history, but after a while, everything returned to the way it was.

 Because of all these achievements, Alexandria must be appreciated, and we must talk about it and its archaeological and historical sites.

The first place is (Bahri بحري ), which is an old neighborhood also called (حي الجمرك).

The neighborhood is characterized as a mixture between the past and the present because its streets preserve the heritage and the people of the neighborhood are distinguished by preserving the Alexandrian language 

But in terms of industry, the Bahri region is one of the distinguished places because it is known for its ancient profession, which is shipbuilding.

The shipbuilding workshop has become a civilized manifestation, as each workshop has its own drawing that distinguishes it from others.

Shipbuilding is a profession inherited by children, and the number of workshops there has reached 60

The processing time of the ship takes from 9 months to a year, and the cost of the ship reaches 3 million pounds. People from all over the world come to these workshops for two reasons.

The first reason to visit and see the ships

The second reason is to build their own ships   

And that Bahri also has many archaeological sites, the most famous and most beautiful is Qaitbay Citadel

The Sultan who built it is Ashraf Qaitbay, and before that there was the Alexandria Lighthouse because it was destroyed by an earthquake.

The castle is built in the Islamic style and has many Islamic decorations and takes the form of a square and is surrounded by the sea on three sides. The castle consists of three floors and is located at the end of Pharos Island in the far west of Alexandria.

This castle was built to fortify and protect Alexandria from external aggression, especially the Ottomans.

And there are many rooms, but the most important room is the weapons room.

Zaman was destined to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was known as the Pharos lighthouse 

For all these reasons, the Bahri area in Alexandria is considered one of the most important areas because it has a great heritage

And not only a historical heritage, but also an industrial heritage
