Alexandria is known for its many tourist places and heritage, and people from all over the world come to it for tourist places, but it is not inclined that there are religious tourist places and that these places include the three religions Christianity, Islam and Judaism

We will talk about the religious places in Alexandria

The first place is

Mosque (Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi) مسجد ابو العباس مرسي

It is located in the Bahri area of ​​Anfoushi

People call him (Morsi Abu al-Abbas) and he was named by this name in relation to the tomb of Sheikh Shihab al-Din Abu al-Abbas Ahmed, and he settled in Alexandria for 43 years, then died and was buried in a cemetery, and after his death a mausoleum and a mosque were built in the same place as his burial.

Secondly, the mosque of the leader Ibrahim  مسجد القائد ابراهيم –

It is located in the sand station. The mosque collects decorations from different eras. It has a distinctive minaret. Now there is a clock in it.

But the question remains, who is the leader Ibrahim?

He is the son of Muhammad Ali Pasha and attributed to him in appreciation of him


Third: Al-Busairi Mosque مسجد البوصيري

Al-Busairi is one of the sheikhs and one of the students of Abu Al-Abbas Al-Mursi

It is a mosque built in the Islamic style and dates back to 1274 AH

Prophet Daniel Mosque مسجد النبي دانيال

The mosque is attributed to Sheikh Muhammad Daniel al-Mawsili

The mosque was built in 1790

This mosque is very old and is characterized by rare Islamic decorations
As for the churches in Alexandria

Among the most famous churches are:

Saint Catherine's Cathedral كاتدرائيه سانت كاترين

is located in the Manshia area and

The cathedral was built in 1850 and was dedicated to the Franciscan monks in the Holy Land.

What distinguishes it is the ancient Coptic decorations and drawings on the walls.

And the question remains, who is Saint Catherine?

She is a saint, and she was the daughter of the ruler of Alexandria, and her love for the Christian religion increased when her father was martyred and she too was martyred for the Christian religion.


Second: The Church of Saints كنيسه القديسين

It is located in the Miami area and was built in 1971, and the idea of ​​​​its establishment was from the shearing of Kamel Bishoy to serve the people of Alexandria, and it was bombed in 2011 and it was restored again

What distinguishes it is that it is large and accommodates 1500 worshippers

As for the Jewish religion in Alexandria, there are many temples, including the Jacob Sasup Temple in the Glim area, the Green Temple in the Raml Station, and the Kansa Temple in the Mansheya Square

But the most famous of them is the Jewish temple of the Prophet Daniel

It is located on Al-Nabi Daniel Street

Where it was first established in 1354 AD, then it was bombed by the French campaign and they rebuilt it.

What distinguishes this place is that it is considered a monument and is visited by people of all religions
